HiveSightA King Innovations venture

Keep your hands in the hive. Let HiveSight take the notes.

A hive-tracking app built by a beekeeper. Paired with smart glasses, it logs every frame for you and talks you through what it sees while the hive is open.

What HiveSight does

Each feature is marked with where it stands today, so you know exactly what you'd get.

  • In the app

    Your hive, box by box

Build each hive the way it actually stands, from bottom board to supers, then tap into any box to see its frames.

  • In the app

    Every frame, logged

Paint brood, honey, pollen and queen cells onto a frame and watch each hive change from one inspection to the next.

  • Coming in the paid version

    Smart glasses do the logging

Wear Ray-Ban Meta glasses, pull a frame and look at it. HiveSight records what's there. No gloves off, no notebook.

  • Coming in the paid version

A second set of eyes, live

Through the glasses' speakers or your earbuds, HiveSight tells you what it sees while the hive is still open.

  • Some free, more in paid

    AI that knows your hives

Ask a question and get an answer built from your own inspection records, not generic advice.

  • In the app

    HiveCircle

Post updates, photos and video to a circle of fellow beekeepers, and follow their hives and posts.

Speak the frame. HiveSight writes it down.

Writing notes with gloves on rarely works. With smart glasses, you say which frame and which side you're holding, and HiveSight logs what the glasses see and talks back with what it notices.

Smart glasses aren't included with HiveSight; you'd use your own pair.

Built in a working apiary

HiveSight is being built for a real apiary in Michigan, and shaped by beekeepers at every level, from first-timers waiting on spring packages to people running dozens of colonies.

Before it reaches the app stores, we want to hear what you'd need from it. The survey takes about three minutes, and you can sign up to test early versions.
